Welcome to the first interactive website about Archaeological Research in Balkan Caves. This webpage aspires to become a communication hub for all of us who are interested in Balkan Cave Archaeology. The goal of the Balkan Cave Archaeology research project is; to explore the role of caves for the Neolithic societies, to promote new research techniques regarding cave archaeology, support educational and community engagement programmes and assist the sustainable development of natural and cultural heritage of Caves in the Balkans and beyond.
This webpage is an open floor for fellow researchers, archaeologists, academics, cavers and whoever is keen on learning, sharing experiences and those who desire to promote archaeological research in Balkan Caves. The idea behind the Cave Log Form is that through this website all of us will be able to add information about caves with archaeological interest and share information about them.
Stay tuned for more updates and don’t forget to add your caves!
Balkan Cave Archaeology project born out of the ongoing PhD research of K. P. Trimmis about the significance of caves for the Balkans Neolithic society.
